looking great …no problems so far …not that i expected any …chuckles…anyone who thinks this isnt the best for sculpty’s or creating in blender needs a brain transplant lol

    • There’s 3 Blender bugs that I’m aware of that affect Primstar, the most obvious one is in deselecting loops – that’ll be fixed pretty quickly when Blender 2.57a comes out. One I’ve avoided altogether, which is why import doesn’t immediately show a file dialog. The last one also affects file dialogs, when you do an import, click the file icon to choose a sculpt map. Unfortunately there’s a bug affecting this and the new filename isn’t immediately available. You need to click to increase LOD to force a refresh before the imported sculpty shape is available. The increase won’t actually take place as once the filename is seen, the face counts and LOD are adjusted to match the sculpt map you are importing, so it’s a safe way to trigger the update.

One more problem is the change in the way multires works – it’s no longer suitable for LOD previews. That’s why imports change the settings to 0 LOD levels. I’ve not investigated whether this is by design or is a bug in the new multires. But all my tests so far suggest it’s best to avoid using it for now.

    Thanks guys, it’s brilliant :)

I don’t care if it’s not complete yet, it lets me use Blender 2.57.

no obvious bugs so far, but I’m just getting started. Followed the tutorial and made (and textured) my first hat in just a few minutes.

Some of the shortcut keys mentioned in the tutorial aren’t working for me, but I think it’s because Ubuntu Linux is stealing them and using them for other things. (ie. not your problem)

I don’t suppose you would consider putting this up on marketplace? That way I don’t have to go through the LL process of buying lindens but can instead just use my credit card on marketplace.
