Create UV Shape

 

You find the Sculptie Creation entries right inside the Add menu tree:

SHIFT+a -> Mesh -> UV Shape -> {Shape}

Right after creation you will find a new entry in the “Tool panel” named “Add xxx UV Shape”, where “xxx” denotes the name of the just created shape. This is a set of parameters which can be interactively customized for the current action (creation of a new object here)…

Create a Ring

Create a Star

The Construction Parameters:

  • U Faces (Default=8):Range[3, ...] The number of U Faces directly corresponds to
    the number of points in the star (#points = #faces / 2).
    Attention: only even numbers of faces give regular star shapes.
  • V Faces (Default=8): Range[1, ...]
  • Depth (default=0.6, range= [-1,+1]): Defines the sharpness of the points:
    • depth:1 collapses the vertices inbetween the points to the z-axis.
    • depth:0 yields a double headed cone (all points are vened out).
    • depth:-1 pulls the vertices inbetween the points far out,
      so that now the star shape reverts the inner points and the outer points.
  • Taper(default=1): Defines the opening of the poles
    • taper:1 top and bottom poles are fully collapsed.
    • taper:0 top and bottom poles are fully opened.
  • Rotate (default=0): Range [-360,360]

Create Steps

The Construction Parameters:

  • U Faces (Default=8): Range [3, ...] Number of faces along the step surface (remind, the number is influebnced by the number of subdivision levels)
  • V Faces (Default=8): Range [1, ...] Each 2 V-faces make one entirely new step.
  • Flatten ends (Default=checked): If checked, then the steps get closed on the sides (see image above).

Create a Torus

The Construction Parameters:

  • U Faces (Default=8): Range[3,...] Number of faces along the Cyliners circumference
  • V Faces (Default=8): Range[1,...] Number of faces along the cylinder height
  • Axis (Default=Z): Range [x,y,z] The axis which goes straight through the Ring hole (Z in the image above)
  • Radius (Default=0.25): Range [0.05, 0.5] The inner radius of the torus. Note that 0.05 means a very thin outer body and a wide hole. While 0.5 means a fat outer body with an almost non existing (very narrow) hole.
  • Rotate U (Default:0): Range [-360, 360] The rotation angle along the Z-axis. Interesting together with the Mirror modifier.
  • Rotate V (Default:0): Range [-360, 360] The rotation angle along the torous-cylinder.
